Full course description
ARTé: Mecenas gives students a unique perspective into the Italian Renaissance. As head of the Medici, the most influential family of the era, students must balance relationships with powerful city-states, merchant factions and the Catholic Church or risk excommunication, exile and bankruptcy.
By following the historical footsteps of the Medici family, students level up to become an influential patron of the arts as they experience the political, social and economic factors that shaped the era. The game features the most influential artworks of the 15th and 16th centuries, including more than 130 pieces of art by over 70 artists.
The course includes 5 modules, discussions, quizzes and the full ARTé: Mecemas game.
Enrollment in the course is ongoing and open. Anybody can sign up at any time. The completion of the course is entirely up to the participants and you can finish the course in as little or as much time as you like. The entire course can be completed in 6 hours.
After successful completion of the course participants will receive 18 professional development or 1.8 CEU credits.
